What does “A New Type of Tough” mean to you?
To me, a new type of tough means recognizing that strength doesn’t always look like hiding your struggles or facing them alone. Sometimes, true courage is being willing to speak openly, ask for help, support others, and challenge the stigma surrounding mental health. I’m grateful to be part of an organization that embraces this kind of strength and is working to make a meaningful impact in our community.

Meet Alissa
I am the founder of Ariasa PLLC and an aesthetic injector at SkinSpirit in Myers Park. I founded Ariasa after publishing research comparing the injection of amnion allografts with platelet-rich plasma, inspired by my belief that nature often does it best. I’ve carried that philosophy throughout my career and remain passionate about staying at the forefront of regenerative aesthetics and bringing innovative, evidence-based approaches to my patients.
I grew up in Shelby, NC, and attended UNC Charlotte as a Cameron Scholar for my undergraduate studies. After completing graduate school at Vanderbilt University, I began my career as a nurse practitioner in a neurosurgical practice before transitioning to aesthetics full-time more than a decade ago here in Charlotte. I’m also the inventor of a patented technique and secured a trademark for Ariasa that I continue to use in my practice.
I married Charlotte native Andrew Pace, and together we welcomed our son, Nolan, in 2022. When Nolan isn’t keeping us busy, our two dogs certainly are—Moses, our Mastiff, and Shelby Reese, our teacup Yorkie. I love Jesus, roller coasters, and just about anything Shania Twain. You may even find me moonlighting as a Shania tribute artist!
What was the first concert you attended?
The first concert I really remember attending was Shania Twain. I was front row and came this close to being chosen to get on stage and sing with her because of my sign (make my dreams come true, let me sing with you) and enthusiasm. I came so close but still such an amazing experience I never forgot!
Who is your favorite rock star?
That’s a tough one to narrow down, but I’ll go with Steven Tyler. Aerosmith’s music was a soundtrack in my teenage years, and when I saw Steven perform in Charlotte years ago, his energy and stage presence were incredible. He definitely knows how to put on a show
