What does “A New Type of Tough” mean to you?
To me, a new type of tough means recognizing that strength doesn’t always look like hiding your struggles or facing them alone. Sometimes, true courage is being willing to speak openly, ask for help, support others, and challenge the stigma surrounding mental health. I’m grateful to be part of an organization that embraces this kind of strength and is working to make a meaningful impact in our community.

Meet Christi
I am co-owner, with my sister, of FOUND Collection, a mindfully sourced curation of clothing and accessories offered at trunk shows along the East Coast. We travel, find treasures off the beaten path, and bring them home to share with our clients. Our company focuses on small independent women designers with a socially conscious mission. I lived on islands off of Portugal for 4 years, then moved to Summerville, SC for most of my childhood. After graduating from Converse College in ’93, I moved to Charlotte to help start the Academy for Charlotte Ballet (formerly North Carolina Dance Theater). I performed with the company in the big ballets in town and on tour (dancing at Spoleto in Charleston was a highlight) teaching class, auditioning/setting all children’s roles for Nutcracker, both in Charlotte and in New York.
In 1997, I retired as Director of Academy to start our family. I held leadership roles in my boys’ schools from pre-school through high school, served on the Arts and Science Council Advisory Board, active at Covenant Presbyterian church, and enjoy tennis, pilates and mah jong. I have been married 32 years to my precious husband, Walt (aka Senor Chips in “F3 speak”) and have two awesome grown sons, Walter (29) and Charles (26), who live in Charlotte and Ann Arbor, MI.

Who is your favorite rock star?
Hootie and the Blowfish (know that isn’t a rock star, per se, but durn they are good)
