To me, a 'New Type of Tough' is being brave enough to be vulnerable, and willing to speak about and share your problems. The flip side is to be a great listener and supporter to people when they reach out for help! There is no shame in admitting you need to talk with someone. As the great R.E.M. song says, ”Everybody hurts… sometimes”… one of my favorite songs.
I live in both Raleigh and Rocky Mount. I am a Senior Principal with Trust Company of the South and have clients throughout North Carolina. My company has an office in Charlotte, which allows me the opportunity to spend time with many of my clients and friends who reside there.
I graduated from Rocky Mount High and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My wonderful wife, Terry Gardner Noble (St. Mary’s/UNC - CH grad), and I are proud of our three terrific kids—sons, Will (32) and Gardner (30), and daughter, Marie (29).
My passions are golf, art, music, football, and hanging with friends. I also love the coast and mountains of North Carolina!
