What does a 'New Type of Tough' mean to you?

To me, A New Type of Tough means ridding ourselves of the fear of talking about mental health by creating an open and honest community.

Pheriby Bryan

Professional Dancer & Suicide Prevention Advocate

Meet Pheriby

My name is Pheriby Bryan and I am a recent graduate of Elon University and the most recent leader of Mission 34 on Elon’s campus! I am a dancer and proud advocate for suicide prevention. I am currently looking to relocate to NYC to work and keep dancing.

I had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Bonner to create my 3-year research and choreography thesis entitled “semicolon,” which was partially dedicated to the memory of Mr. and Mrs. Bonner’s son, Sean P. Bonner, Jr. This project was an investigation of suicide prevention on college campuses culminating in a dance concert and speaker panel. This research and choreography project made history on Elon's campus, as it is the first joint Elon Dance and Elon Choir performance on stage.

What was the first concert you attended?

The first concert I ever attended was Khalid- who is amazing.

Who is your favorite rock star?

My favorite rock star without a doubt is James Brown.
